Physical activity in everyday life

The sedentary lifestyle practiced by most people today has led to problems and diseases of the musculoskeletal system, as well as many chronic diseases, occurring more and more often. Pain and reduced mobility in different body area, and most often in the cervical and/or lumbar spine, significantly reduce the quality of life as a whole. Many scientific studies have proven that regular exercise prolongs life by positively affecting the overall psychophysical state of the body. Physical activity improves the musculoskeletal system, but also the respiratory, cardiovascular, digestive, and endocrine systems, as well as the overall metabolism, thus preventing the appearance, or the severity of manifestation, of many chronic illnesses — diabetes, high blood pressure, ischemic heart disease and brain ischemia, osteoporosis, all forms of degenerative rheumatism.

WHO SHOULD EXERCISE?

The situations in which rest is recommended imply some serious damage has been made to the health of the patient, such as, for example, in cases of acute inflammation, vital organs’ failing or crashing, periods after some serious operations, etc. In any event, if your health is seriously damaged, you should consult your doctor before you take part in any sporting activity. Generally speaking, everyone should exercise, but the program and the intensity of the exercises must be adapted to each individual according to actual problems and the health condition of each patient.

HOW TO EXERCISE?

In order to achieve all the desired, good effects of physical activity, and to avoid bad effects, for instance injuries, we need to stick to two basic principles: – exercise properly, – exercise regularly. It is important to choose a physical activity which is adequate for each individual, and it is best to create, if possible, an individual exercise program which should then be carried out daily. The best time to exercise is in the morning, at the beginning of the day; that is how we wake up faster, start our metabolism, put ourselves in a better mood. Additionally, in this way, we improve our concentration and our working ability. We can also exercise while taking a break from work, or at the end of the day for relaxation purposes.

A REGULAR AND PROPER WORKOUT WILL EXTEND AND IMPROVE YOUR LIFE, REGARDLESS OF HOW OLD YOU ARE NOW, HOW BUSY OR BURDENED BY THE OBLIGATIONS OF EVERYDAY LIFE YOU ARE.
